DEAR COFFEE DRINKERS AND OTHER PEOPLE OF EARTH,
I’m very excited to present our revamped website, now much more user friendly, as well as our new lineup of podcasts. Every JCH podcast is enlightening, entertaining, professionally produced, and deals with authentic issues in the Jewish world. The JCH website will also include my new blog, the Scott Kahnversation, so that I can pontificate and tell you all of my big and important thoughts in writing as well as over the airwaves.
You’ll notice that we have added three new podcasts to our lineup: The Franciska Show, Ask the Rabbis, and Intellectual Spirituality. These stand alongside five very popular podcasts that have been part of JCH for some time: Orthodox Conundrum, Intimate Judaism, Chochmat Nashim, The Maimonides Minute, and Holy Madness.
The Orthodox Conundrum is the premiere podcast which looks honestly at the Orthodox Jewish community, identifying what works well and what does not, so that, through an honest accounting, we can find solutions that will be successful.
Intimate Judaism features couples and sex therapist Talli Rosenbaum and me in a monthly podcast that explores passion, desire, love, marriage and relationships through the lens of Jewish values and textual sources.
The Chochmat Nashim Podcast fights injustice in the Orthodox Jewish world, while helping its listeners to bring about positive change. Rachel, Shoshanna, and Anne speak from within the community out of love for Judaism, respect for tradition, and the need for justice.
The Maimonides Minute, released four times a week, presents Jewish law as codified in the Rambam’s Mishneh Torah, along with insights and a taste of Maimonides’ philosophy.
Holy Madness is a culture, religion, and spirituality podcast for thinkers. There are precious few people who believe, ask questions, think critically, and care about G-d. If you’re part of Holy Madness, you’re probably one of them.
The Franciska show offers conversations with Jewish women in the world of arts and entertainment. In addition, she hosts the monthly “No More Silence” series – interviews with survivors of abuse in the Jewish community.
Ask the Rabbis and Intellectual Spirituality are two new podcasts available to our Patreon subscribers. Pateron is a platform where fans of Jewish Coffee House can partner with us by becoming patrons of the site. For a monthly financial contribution, patrons simultaneously help us remain financially viable, and also are able to receive all sorts of stuff – from extra podcasts to merch – in return. To learn more about partnering with JCH thought Patreon, click here: https://www.patreon.com/jewishcoffeehouse.
Some of our popular podcasts, such as Baseball Rabbi and Cup of Salvation, are no longer on JCH; they can still be found, however, on your favorite podcast provider. (Baseball Rabbi will soon have its own website – www.baseballrabbi.com – that will be launched in the next few months.) We removed them from Jewish Coffee House so that this site can be dedicated exclusively to Jewish content.
I hope that you enjoy the new Jewish Coffee House. I believe that we’re creating the Jewish world’s premiere podcast site – a site that will combine serious discussion with entertainment, learning with fun. Please follow me on twitter @JewishCoffeeH, please like our Jewish Coffee House Facebook page, and make sure to send me your feedback to [email protected].
Join me in making 2020 the year that Jewish Coffee House helps change the Jewish world for the better!
Have an awesome January –
Scott
