In Parashat Chukat, after Moshe and Aharon hit the rock, G-d tells them that they can no longer lead the people into the Land of Israel. Why, when Moshe prays for the decree to be rescinded, does he not admit any guilt? Where is his show of repentance? The answer leads us to a deeper understanding of what his sin was in the first place, and how it was directly connected with the consequence of losing his position of leadership before entering the Land.
