Although a person is required to hear only nine shofar sounds, we first blow thirty blasts after the reading of the Torah, and then blow the shofar three more times during Musaf. Today we will see the Rambam’s depiction of the standard custom – which, incidentally, differs from that done in most communities nowadays.
