We learned that when a person worships an idolatrous image, that image becomes forbidden, and no one may derive any benefit from it. What happens, however, if an idolater worships something that does not belong to him – does the item become forbidden to its owner, despite the fact that the owner did nothing wrong? And what happens when an idolater worships something natural, without changing it – like a hill, or an animal; do they become forbidden, or must the idolater first affect them in order to make them prohibited?
